Black History Month

Every February, we celebrate Black History Month. It is a time to appreciate the many accomplishments that black Canadians have made in making Canada a culturally diverse and prosperous country. It is an opportunity for teachers to support students as they learn more, discover cultural impacts and follow movements throughout history and the present day. We, as a community, must examine issues of racism, the impact it has on our communities and try to implement positive actions through day to day experiences.

TVDSB has provided resources, virtual class presentations and professional learning opportunities to support staff and students throughout the month of February and beyond. Please click here for more information.

The London Black History Coordinating Committee has created many opportunities for our community to celebrate Black History Month through organized programs and activities. Please read this year's Black History Month event calendar for more information on how you can participate.
